Shay is a garden designer with a deep-rooted passion for plants and a background in the visual arts. He holds an MA in Animation Direction from the National Film and Television School and spent many years working as an animation director and art director, developing a strong sense of narrative, space, and composition.

Driven to reconnect with the natural world, Shay pursued the RHS Level 2 Diploma, followed by a Garden Design Diploma and a specialist Plants and Planting Design course at Capel Manor College. His planting work was recognised with the 2024 Year Royal Parks Redesign Prize at Regent’s Park, celebrating his thoughtful and expressive approach.

With over ten years of hands-on gardening experience, Shay brings practical, in-depth plant knowledge to every project. He designs with balance in mind—choosing plants that thrive together and suit the site’s natural conditions.

His goal is to create spaces with a strong sense of place, designed for the people who live in them to relax, feel at home, and connect with nature.
